Aloha Kalikimaka!

The joys of the season are found everywhere. The keiki singing Christmas carols with innocence and a twinkle in their eyes. Tutu rocking in her chair beside her mo`opuna's first Christmas tree. Even the pooch dressed in holiday finery….

One of my holiday favorites is seeing a real Hawaiian wreath. I'm talking about my island-of-Hawai`i-kind-of-wreath, because we have the liko, the lehua, and the pa`iniu. Of course, we have the ferns, the pukiawe, mullein, and all the other goodies to make the most special Hawaiian wreaths.

Dave Adachi has been making wreaths for several years but our 2010 gem is extra, extra beautiful. When it was delivered, he told me that he took it apart a couple of times before finishing it. He wasn't quite satisfied and removed all that he had attached, and then re-did it all. From the look though, we received a perfect wreath. Mahalo to Dave for his gift of the holidays, filled with aloha! This wreath is so special, extraordinary as it is the only one he made this year! This is the highlight of my season! (Come to the shop to see it!)

Enjoy your holiday season with experiences that can only happen at this time of the year! Sing along with the merriment and share that special light with a friend, aunty, or stranger! Spread the warmth of aloha with a big smile!

Happy holidays to all!
